Illustrated navbars use drawn elements, characters or custom icons as the navigation. They are almost always personal sites or studios where the illustration is the brand. Yun Gao's three simple links and Adrien Lamy's Paris-mercenary persona both make the bar part of the artwork.
The risk is legibility: a drawn label has to read as a link at a glance. Lando Norris's site solves this by pairing the illustration with hover and cursor effects that make every target obvious.
