Retro
navbars
These navbars take their inspiration from the internet of the old, or maybe some form of TUI/GUI, either way we've put them all here!
About retro navbars
Retro navbars borrow from older interfaces: terminal menus, operating system chrome, CRT monitors and the web of the late nineties. The nostalgia is the point, but the best examples use it as a system rather than a skin.
Stripe.dev's navbar mirrors a text-mode TUI menu, and Floor796 lifts its bar straight from a Linux desktop. Edoardo Lunardi goes further and wraps his whole navigation in vintage CRT scanlines. All three are instantly recognisable and still easy to use.
